Hi! I’m Tyla Fowler and this is my blog. If you’re from Clovis, you might be looking for the website of Megan Fowler. That is also me. Long story. If you’re confused, that’s me in the picture. Anyway, I’m glad you’re here.
A little bit about me? I’m one of the innumerable twenty-somethings attempting to make a life for myself in the big city. Originally from a small town in New Mexico, I’ve come a long way (literally and figuratively) from where I started. I’ve faced a lot of change in the past few years, but through it all, the one place I’ve always felt at home is in the kitchen. I have no training, but cooking has always been a refuge for me and writing is quickly becoming one as well.
If you’re curious about the title of this blog, it’s pretty much explained in my first post, which is still one of my favorites.
After an eight-month-long stint in a job I really didn’t care for (which I wrote about leaving), I took a chance and started to pursue a career in a field I’m more interested in: food. I’m still working on what I want to be when I grow up, and I’ve done some finding myself by interning here and by doing some stuff over here. I’ve done a bit of freelance writing and research, most recently helping out with Chopped at the Food Network, which was pretty cool. I’m currently looking for a paid gig (or gigs), so if you’ve got ideas, hit me up!
If you have any questions, put it in the comments (I love comments) or shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Also, I tend to overuse parentheses and ellipses. I’m aware of this and I’m sorry. I can’t help it.
